Texian Market Days (TMD) is an annual event of the Fort Bend Museum Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. Proceeds from Texian Market Days fund continuing education programs of the
Fort Bend Museum and the
George Ranch Historical Park, which serve over 38,000 Texas school children each year.
Texian Market Days is held at George Ranch Historical Park, a 480-acre living history museum in the heart of Stephen F. Austin's original colony. TMD visitors can catch a bit of Texas' frontier spirit through hands-on experiences and interactive programs at the festival's 1830's Stock Farm, 1860's Civil War Encampment, 1890's Victorian Area and Sharecroppers Farm and the 1930s' cowboy and cattle working sites. (This Texas spirit can be contagious!)
For additional information on this year's activities review the festival
activities and the
schedule of entertainment events. (The schedule will be updated regularly.) The festival also offers visitors the opportunity to get a head start on holiday shopping with the huge Texian Market Days Arts and Crafts Fair. Many booths of unique handcrafted and antique/collectible items are on display and sale just in time for early holiday shopping.
