Friday, October 24, 2003 is Students' Day at Texian Market Days. Although students will be welcomed through the event, October 24 has been set aside for specialized educational programming. Schools from across the region will be welcomed to explore all that TMD offers.
It's an October tradition! For 20 years, the George Ranch Historical Park has been transformed into one of the largest and most authentic living history museums in Texas. By enabling students to experience every aspect of life in early Texas – economic, social and political – TMD can provide unique tools for teaching higher-level skills in an authentic context.

The volunteers who participate in the festival are experts in their chosen fields--from skills and crafts to historical reenactments. Their collective knowledge and passion constitute an incomparable teaching resource. Add dramatic skills and an eagerness to share their love of history, and you have an event of high educational value.

Our goal with this Education Kit is to provide teachers with information and ideas for activities to assist them in using Texian Market Days as an extension of the classroom. To make reservations for Students' Day, October 24, 2003 for your classroom or school group, please call 281-343-0218, ext. 220.
