9/20/03 7:30 AM-Noon Oyster Creek Cleanup Recognizing Public Lands Day - Volunteers needed from 8-10 AM on trash pickup crews. Additional volunteers needed to helop with information booths from 9 AM to Noon.
10/25/03 5 - 9 PM City of Sugar Land Boo Bash Volunteers needed to help with games at the KSLB booth during this family fun event.
Ongoing Volunteer Positions to be filled
Adopt a Spot Coordinator-maintain records of cleanups, assist in registering new groups
Scheduling Coordinator-Work with Executive Director to staff each event. Secure names and contact information, provide to staff and event chair, followup with thank you’s. Must be organized, some computer skill required. Ongoing position that should require only 2-4 hours a month
Awards Coordinator-assist in Sweet and Neat Awards and annual applications, keep up to date information on various awards, must be organized and detail oriented. Ongoing position that should require only 2-4 hours a month
Awards Writer-complete awards applications on a timely basis, strong writing skills and word processing skills required. Ongoing position that should require only 2-3 hours a month.
Fundraising Event Chairman- assist Board in organizing a specific fundraising event. Previous fundraising experience helpful or a strong desire to learn.
Grant Writer- assist Executive Director in identifying and completing relevant grants. Grant writing or technical writing experience desired. Hours per month dependant on interest level.
Presenters- assist Executive Director in presenting programs to adult groups, school groups, scout group on variety of topics. Scripts can be provided. Day, evening and weekend programs are available. Must be comfortable with public speaking, no specific topic knowledge required, state if you have preference for either adult or child audiences and when you are typically available.
Ongoing help needed in office - computer work, correspondence, filing, .Presenters needed for school, scout and youngster programs. We will provide all training and materials.
