You will find that Maya's work includes figurative abstract imagery as well as more realistic life renderings. "Peace.Fly.Diva" is one of several of Maya's paintings included in ArtView's "A Butterfly's View" exhibit and is the first of her Butterfly Series. The abstract images, the butterfly angels, have converged on the human form. The abstract forms have evolved as a visual translation of her feelings, like journal entries. The butterfly angel combines Maya's feelings about the presence of earth angels, "those people God places in our lives to help us to become the person He has called us to be." For Maya, butterflies represent the positive elements of change and transformation that are inevitable in our lives. The result is butterfly.angel.woman.diva. While you will usually find some version of a butterfly in her contemporary pieces, there are some paintings that give the feeling or sentiment of a butterfly emergence, without the actual symbol.

She hopes you will be inspired and pass it on!
